A short film, released for the third anniversary of the start of the Syrian revolution, chronicling the epic role of Syrian women in the country’s ongoing revolution ever since it started in March 2011. “Hurra” (Arabic for ‘free woman’) is a reminder to all those who now only talk about ‘jihadi terrorists’ – i.e. scary men – that this was, and still is, a popular revolution that cuts across Syrian society, demanding dignity and freedom, and that women were, and still are, part of it.
