The revolutionary women of Zabadani

A powerful short film (5 min) about the role of the women of al-Zabadani, a town near Damascus, in the revolution in their local area – from organising protests and calling for strikes, to distributing leaflets, graffiti, making flags and banner and so on. The film shows how they have courageously challenged not only repression at the hands of the regime but also the conservative social norms that limit women’s role in politics.
