COMMENT FROM THE EDITOR:
Meanwhile, there have been widely held speculations that Iran has been shipping arms and military support to the Assad regime. Many pictures and videos have been published on the internet confirming these speculations (including some on our Facebook page). The EU and the US have recently added to their new sanctions lists the names of two Iranian companies and three individuals associated with Sepah Pasdaran, whom they accuse of sending weapons to Syria and Africa. The Iraqi foreign minister Hoshyar Zebari had earlier confirmed the shipment of arms from Tehran to Syria, with more than 100 Iranian suspected aeroplanes inspected by Iraq so far. Moreover, the commander of Sepah Pasdaran has approved Sepah Quds’ supports for Bashar al-Assad. Quds is a special unit of Sepah responsible for overseas operations. Isn’t this called hypocrisy?
